In depth

What to know before hiring a studio for a Gulf project 🎮

Localisation is a build decision, not a translation task. Arabic runs right to left, joins letters by context and needs fonts that hold up at small sizes. If a game is built left-to-right first, menus, HUDs and text boxes usually need rework. We plan for both directions from the first sprint.

Mobile comes first. Players across the GCC are overwhelmingly on phones, so performance on mid-range Android devices matters as much as polish on the latest iPhone. We profile on real hardware before launch.

Ask about ownership and handover. Government-backed programmes, agencies and brands often need the full source code and assets at the end. Every A Plus project includes an NDA and 100% source-code ownership.

FAQ

Middle East game development FAQ ❓

Does A Plus Games Studio work with clients in the Middle East?

Yes. We build games and AR/VR experiences for studios, brands, agencies, government-backed programmes and founders across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. Projects run remotely with an agreed overlap on Gulf working hours, and one of our directors is based in the UAE.

Can you make games in Arabic?

Yes. We build right-to-left interfaces and handle Arabic text shaping and fonts in Unity from the first sprint, design bilingual Arabic and English menus, and test the Arabic build on real devices. Translations come from your localisation partner.

Which GCC markets are investing most in games?

Saudi Arabia (the National Gaming and Esports Strategy under Vision 2030, with PIF and Savvy Games Group) and the UAE (the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, AD Gaming and the DMCC Gaming Centre) are the largest. Qatar is building its ecosystem through Invest Qatar and Media City Qatar, including agreements with Tencent’s Level Infinite and SEGA. Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman are growing through esports, festivals, education and national visions.

How much does it cost to build a game for a Gulf client?

It depends on scope, not location. Our cost guide gives typical 2026 ranges by game type, and every project gets a fixed quote with a milestone plan within 48 hours of a brief. You own 100% of the source code.
